ISPRS WG V/2 Workshop on ″Advances in Cultural Heritage Measurement Techniques″ with International Conference on ″Digital Preservation of Archaeological Heritage″, 10-12 March 2010, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India.
The objectives of conference are to create awareness about the upcoming digital technology for archaeological preservation and to train the young scientists / archaeologists about this new technology.
The day before the ISPRS Commission V symposium in Newcastle (21st June, 2010), a tutorial will give an introductory overview of sensors, data acquisition and processing techniques for terrestrial 3D modelling and cultural heritage 3D documentation. This will include image-based and range-based techniques, with a focus on sensor selection and integration, data processing, GIS utilization, requirements, needs and motivations for Cultural Heritage documentation. Different image-based and range-based examples will be shown and discussed to understand the potential and usability of the actual digital techniques and methodologies applied to the archaeological, architectural, conservation and documentation fields.
